Mary Reaman graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1989. After two years as a District Executive for the Boy Scouts of America, Mary received a scholarship to study theology at the University of Dayton, earning a Master’s degree in 1993. For several years she worked at Bergamo Center for Lifelong Learning designing retreats and spiritual development programs for youth and adults. In 1996 Mary left Bergamo and worked as Associate Director of Old North Dayton Development Corporation. In January of 1998 Mary began her doctoral studies at the University of Creation Spirituality in Oakland, California. In May 1998 Mary took an associate pastor position at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church in Dayton. In 2002 she completed her doctorate of ministry degree and in May of 2006 she left St. Agnes. In September 2006 Mary founded the Tree of Life Community in Dayton, Ohio and continues to pursue her passions of art as meditation, writing, preaching and participating in a community committed to spiritual growth. In the fall of 2007 her first book, Wake Up to God’s Word, was published by St. Anthony Messenger Press. In May 2010, Tree of Life Community became Tree of Life Community: A Unitarian Universalist Congregation and Mary remains as Pastor.
