Welcome to Tree of Life Community
Who We Are
Sometimes at TLCUU we like to joke that we’re “The Church of I Don’t Know.” But it’s not really such a joke. Unlike most spiritual communities, we don’t claim to have the answers to great questions about the presence, absence, or nature of God, about what happens before or after life as we know it or about how the universe we are a part of came into being. We recognize that each of us is on an individual voyage toward understanding and peace, and we have decided to travel together for this part of our journey, supporting each other in the directions we each feel called to go. Together we can explore ways to make our time here more productive, meaningful, and compassionate toward each other, toward the Earth, and toward ourselves.
All are welcome at TLC! Our community is committed both to the principles of Creation Spirituality and to the principles Unitarian Universalism, which we find useful in framing the great questions pertaining to our roles in the Universe and in our daily lives. We believe that we are all on a journey and, as we travel together we can help each other explore all the wonders and possibilities our Universe offers..
We are a spiritual community where questions are welcomed, diversity is valued, creativity is nurtured, peace is cultivated, and life is renewed. We don’t care who you are, what you do, where you’ve been, or who you love: You are welcome here. We believe that we are all on a journey and, as we spend this part of our journey together, we can help each other on our individual paths, whether or not they are the same ones we are following ourselves.
The very best way to get to know us is to visit one of our weekly gatherings Sundays at 10:30. You’ll be warmly greeted, hugged if you’re comfortable with that, and probably fed. In the meantime, though, if you’d like to learn more about Creation Spirituality you can do so by exploring here. If you’d like to learn more about Unitarian Universalism you can explore more here.
We hope you like what you see on these pages enough to come and get acquainted with us in person. We’d love to meet you and think you’ll like us.
